Sweepstakes

Great Falls Airport wanted to learn more about their current and potential customers. This trip for two sweepstakes from KRTV-TV included lead-generation questions to identify popular destinations and collect valuable customer feedback. Nearly 4,000 people entered the contest and the airport signed on for a second contest before the first was over!

Photo/Video Contests

The Spartanburg Herald-Journal ran a vacation photo contest for a local cruise company. The contest asked users to submit a vacation photo and vote for their favorite for a chance to win a two-night hotel stay. The registration form included an email opt-in for the sponsor which helped fill their database with interested users!

Ballots

KING-TV secured the local tourism bureau to sponsor a ‘Best Northwest Escapes’ ballot. The ballot featured categories for destinations, family fun, gear, and more. The station revealed the winners throughout the week in evening programming which was another opportunity to drive viewers.

Quizzes

Quizzes are a unique way to find leads, like Hartford Courant’s ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ personality quiz for Aer Lingus, an Irish airline. The quiz questions were great for learning about their audience (such as ‘How far would you travel for adventure?’) and the registration form included two opt-ins, one for the advertiser and one for the papers’ travel newsletter. The promotion allowed the sponsor to learn about their audience, boosted their brand awareness, and filled their database with prospects. This quiz generated $30,000 in sponsorship revenue for the paper!
